Bonjour!
I’m back from Paris Fashion Week and still dreaming about it. Paris is so special during Fashion Week – the energy, the style, the whole vibe of the city is amazing. Here are five highlights…
1. Visiting Maison Rabih Kayrouz Atelier
Getting to visit Rabih Kayrouz's atelier was seriously next level. Rabih is an incredible Lebanese designer who calls France his “comforting ally,” and Lebanon his “enigmatic muse.” I love his minimal, architectural approach.
2. Vintage Shopping Adventures
Paris is a wonderful city for discovering one-of-a-kind pieces. I spent an afternoon in the vintage shops around Le Marais and Saint-Germain, digging through racks and chatting with the shop owners who know the story behind every piece. These are the stores I visited!
3. The Shows
This season, I was so excited to see the shows from Dior, Acne Studios, Issey Miyake, Victoria Beckham, and Christopher Esber.
At Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri's Orlando-inspired collection at Tuileries Garden with Robert Wilson's theatrical direction gave the whole thing this dreamy, farewell vibe. Rocks falling from the sky, confetti showers... so good.
Acne Studios was such a vibe with Jonny Johansson's bear-inspired collection and a Björk soundtrack. The fuzzy Steiff-fabric coats and exaggerated shoulders were so cool and I loved all of the accessories (especially the statement earrings).
Issey Miyake is always innovating – Satoshi Kondo's collection blurred the lines between clothes and art with this cool performance featuring one-minute sculptures by Erwin Wurm. This collection was sculptural with deconstructed tailoring. I loved the colors especially. It all felt fresh and full of creative energy.
Victoria Beckham just gets how women want to feel in clothes. I loved the dresses and coats especially.
Christopher Esber had this super sophisticated collection mixing flamenco with flapper vibes and Japanese shibari elements – the cord details that moved as models walked pulled everything together beautifully. The color palette felt so me - I’d wear every single piece, especially the rust-colored pants and textured top above.
4. Food Moments
Biche was such a find – this super quaint local spot had incredible food. Just authentic French cuisine in the coziest setting.
For a completely different mood, Baronne was a cool, scene-y spot with a beautiful interior inside the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild.
I ordered pizza from Miglia one night, and it was exactly what I needed.
5. Hotel Balzac Vibes
I stayed at Hotel Balzac and it was perfect. It’s located near the Champs-Élysées so it was easy to get to most shows, but still felt peaceful. The classic Parisian elegance is just so good – from the moldings to the furnishings.
Every visit to Paris leaves me inspired, exhausted in the best way, and already planning to go back.
See you next time!
